INGREDIENTS FOR SICHUAN GREEN BEANS RECIPE
- 4 cm chopped fresh ginger
- 2 tbsp. c. by sambal oelek
- 2 tbsp. at s. tamari
- 1 C. at s. toasted sesame oil
- 2 tbsp. tsp maple syrup
- 330g green beans
- 2 tbsp. at s. olive or peanut oil
- Toasted sesame seeds to garnish (optional)
For this green bean recipe, start by bringing a large pot of salted water to a boil.
Plunge the green beans into boiling water and cook for 3 minutes from when it resumes boiling. Drain well and pat dry with a towel.
Heat the olive oil in a large skillet or wok over high heat.
When the oil is very hot, it should not be smoking, add the green beans and cook for 3 minutes until they sizzle and start to blister. Add the sauce, turn off the heat and let stand for 2 minutes before serving. Add toasted sesame seeds, if desired.
