SICHUAN GREEN BEANS RECIPE

INGREDIENTS FOR SICHUAN GREEN BEANS RECIPE

  • Salt
  • 4 cm chopped fresh ginger
  • 2 tbsp. c. by sambal oelek
  • 2 tbsp. at s. tamari
  • 1 C. at s. toasted sesame oil
  • 2 tbsp. tsp maple syrup
  • 330g green beans
  • 2 tbsp. at s. olive or peanut oil
  • Toasted sesame seeds to garnish (optional)


INSTRUCTIONS
For this green bean recipe, start by bringing a large pot of salted water to a boil.

In a bowl, combine the ginger, sambal oelek , tamari , sesame oil, and maple syrup to make the sauce.

Plunge the green beans into boiling water and cook for 3 minutes from when it resumes boiling. Drain well and pat dry with a towel.

Heat the olive oil in a large skillet or wok over high heat.

When the oil is very hot, it should not be smoking, add the green beans and cook for 3 minutes until they sizzle and start to blister. Add the sauce, turn off the heat and let stand for 2 minutes before serving. Add toasted sesame seeds, if desired.
